Jiaying Wu’s research on late Holocene climate and environmental change in southern Costa Rica was published in The Holocene. Wu, J., Porinchu, D. F., & Horn, S. P. (2017). Stephen Cooper has received funding from the Geological Society of America to support his research on Holocene fire histories and vegetation change in Great Basin National Park in July 2017.

Jiaying Wu was awarded the UGA Graduate School’s Summer Doctoral Research Fellowship to support her continuing research on Holocene climate and environmental change in the Highlands of Costa Rica.

An entry by Porinchu on “Global Climate Change” was published The International Encyclopedia of Geography: People, the Earth, Environment, and Technology.

Porinchu was recently awarded a Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship (2017-18) that he will use to document long-term climate variability in the Himalaya in northern India.
